What Wat was a White Wat?
[G2:13218 n=1 class="left" exactsize=180 frame=dots]Wat's are Temples, mostly buddhistic, and there are plenty of them, I have my little guidy with me all the time, and in this guide are so many Wat's that you can los weeks in them, but already today I found two Wats which are not mentioned (or I havent found them in the crowd), even though one of those Tempels of three Gods (Rama IV and his two sons) wasn't open to the pulic due to a renovation...
After some weeks in India, Bankok is feeling like comeing back into the civilisation.
Even though I have my difficulties in this city aswell, and it won't be that easy to learn the Thai Script as it was with the cyrillic, but its still quite easy to communicate, and all the Street signs are in Thai and in Latin Letters.

Bangkok has over 7 Million inhabitants, and it is described as chaotic and overcrowded. I can't really argue for that, the streets are crowded, and the traffic seems slow, but its far from the state in Kiev or Delhi. The streets are pretty clean, the skyscraper are side by side and show a pretty amazing skyline. The Metro and Skytrain are just great, to get fast through the city, even the SBB or the ZVV could learn something from the comprehensebility of the Signs (2 languages), of the announcements (2 languages) and the ticket vending machines. (However the system is small, it's difficult to say if this would work as good in bigger train networks)
[G2:12782 n=1 class="left" exactsize=180 frame=dots]Bangkok official Thai name is:
"The city of angels, the great city, the eternal jewel city [Smaragd Buddha], the impregnable city of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukam"
:) short name, isnt it?... a bit easiers: Krung Thep („City of angels“).
[G2:13162 n=1 class="left" exactsize=180 frame=dots] I live direct in the center, (Hua Lumphong, ear China Town) and I love my hotel with running hot and cold water, daily room cleaning, toilet paper... as I said, it feels like I got back into civilisation. I will stay here till sunday, before I'll fly to Hong Kong.
Greetings from South east asia.
