zensorchecker

warning: strftime() [function.strftime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'Europe/Berlin' for 'CET/1.0/no DST' instead in /var/syscp/webs/apophis/apophis-neXt/gallery2/modules/core/classes/GalleryPlatform.class on line 1219.

Zensorchecker gets censored by ETH...

ETH wasn't Amused today... thats what I am been told by the origo team today.

ETH shut down the whole Origo site, because obviously many Porn site linked to my Project, obviously because of the included list of (outdated) domain entries.

Its pretty funny that more than half a year after anything was done to the Project, ETH needs to completly shut down the whole origo domain just because of some content which doesnt directly link anything on it. And it is there already for more than half a year.

Spider yet unknown banned urls

I already posted the newest development on the Zensorchecker on its blog.

The next version of the Zensorchecker will be able to spider new url's which have not been leaked to the public. This version will make the leaking less important, since everybody can search for censored urls in the future. I am not sure yet about some design decisions and it might take some time till I release 0.7.

First Release of ZensorChecker

I started a new Project on origo, I call it ZensorChecker.

The basic idea was to have a simple tool for everyone to check if their own connection gets censored.

The Program checks the locally present DNS Server against the list of Censored Domains
