Fuqid for Freenet 0.7, [0.1 Alpha] released 2 days ago

Freenet had no updates for several Months, the reason, Toad is working on a big update, known as Freenet 0.7. Freenet 0.7 is in alpha testing, after a port of Frost to the new network, now also Fuqid got an update. This version works for the old 0.5 network aswell as the new 0.7 network.

The Client as the network are still in alpha testing, and are only for experiments and not for daily freenet surfing. But now the two most common clients are fully working and now we are ready for 0.7.

I haven't tested the new version yet, but there are probably some new things in it. The FEC will be done completly transparently by the node and therefore the blocks are not visible to the client. Maybe you miss the nice blockpatterns in green, red and grey. But there should be a statusbar. 

I'll try to update the manual before the actual release of the node and the client.
